About Us

At Appliancewhy.com, we believe most appliance faults are far simpler than the repair quote suggests. A washing machine that will not drain, a fridge that hums but never gets cold, an oven that browns one side of everything — behind almost all of it is a part that costs very little and an afternoon of patience.

This site exists because we got tired of watching people replace perfectly good machines. A call-out fee, a diagnosis nobody explains in plain words, and a recommendation to buy new: that is the usual path, and it is expensive for you and wasteful for everyone.

So we take the appliances people actually own and work through what goes wrong with them — what the symptom really means, how to tell a cheap fault from an expensive one, which tools you need, and, just as honestly, when a repair is not worth attempting and calling someone is the right answer.

Everything here is written for someone who has never opened an appliance before. We name the parts, show where they sit, and explain why the fault happens rather than only how to clear it, because the second time it happens you should not need us.

We are not affiliated with any manufacturer or retailer. When we recommend a part or a tool, it is because it did the job.

Fix it yourself, skip the repair bill.
